A filter is an important part of a swimming pool filtration system. Thanks to its filtering load (silica sand or glass) it retains particles up to 20 microns smaller than its size. Reinforced plastic or fiberglass and polyester filters are designed to withstand static and dynamic pressures.

Filtration is one of the three parts of the work that must be done to keep the pool water clean, it also requires a disinfection treatment and PH control. For a correct use of the sand filter it is important to wash it. Since the sand in the filter will have been clogged by dirt. Therefore, the same filter has a selector valve with which we can carry out a backwash, which allows the water circulation to go in the opposite direction in the wound sand filter. For any operation related to manipulating the selector valve, it is important to turn off the filtration pump. The filtration cycle normally takes between 4-6 Hours to complete with all the pool water.
